Action Alert

Urge W Series Women’s Race Series to Listen to the Speed Sisters and Drop Puma

Take action now to urge the drivers for the W Series women's race series to respect the call from the Palestinian Speed Sisters to drop Puma until it ends support for Israeli apartheid.

W Series is working to promote the participation of women in motorsports. Their stated mission is to promote equality and diversity.

But there’s a problem. W Series is sponsored by Puma, which supports Israeli apartheid, the embodiment of inequality. Specifically, Puma supports sports teams in illegal Israeli settlements, violating Palestinian human rights.

The Speed Sisters, a Palestinian all-women professional racing team, recently wrote to W Series explaining that illegal Israeli settlements force indigenous Palestinian families from their homes, making them even more vulnerable during a pandemic.

Tell W Series: Stand with the Speed Sisters and drop Puma until it ends support for Israeli apartheid

W Series’ goal of promoting equality and diversity is undermined by its partnership with Puma.

Puma has multiple activities in illegal Israeli settlements on occupied Palestinian land. Puma is the main sponsor of the Israel Football Association, which includes football clubs in illegal settlements. Puma’s exclusive licensee is listed in the UN database of complicit companies involved in Israel’s illegal settlement.

In their letter, the Speed Sisters say, “No matter which direction we drive in the occupied Palestinian territory, we run up against Israel’s military road blocks, ...wall, and segregated Israeli-only roads and settlements.”

W Series can’t break down barriers by partnering with a company that helps prop them up.

Join the Speed Sisters in urging the W Series to suspend its partnership with Puma.

Take a moment to write to the W Series drivers now.
