Part 5: Israel’s Gaza genocide accelerating its economic collapse
A leading Israeli paper revealed on 10 July that 46,000 Israeli businesses have shut down since the start of Israel’s #GazaGenocide against 2.3 million Palestinians. This is the strongest indicator to date of the accelerating and “very serious” damage to the Israeli economy. #ShutDownNation
Part 4: Intel halts $25B investment in Israel’s sinking economy
BDS pressure works! According to Israeli financial media sources, Tech giant Intel has halted construction of a new $25 billion factory in Israel, prompting speculation that the factory is “in danger of being canceled.” Intel still remains deeply complicit in feeding Israel’s genocidal war chest, so let’s escalate our #BoycottIntel campaign to make it end complicity.
Part 3: Economic crisis admitted by Israeli leaders, ignored by Western media
Finally, Israel’s opposition leaders, not just its leading economists and business executives, are admitting that under the current government, the most far-right, fundamentalist and corrupt ever, apartheid Israel is facing a serious economic crisis and fast becoming a #ShutDownNation.
Part (2b): US tech companies begin to shut down Israel operations
Investing in Israel, a 75-year-old settler colony that imposes apartheid on Indigenous Palestinians has always been unethical and illegal. It is becoming financially reckless as well. #ShutDownNation
Part (2a): 12 NEW BUSINESS REASONS TO DIVEST FROM ISRAEL
With its most far-right, fundamentalist, and corrupt government ever, Israel is increasingly looking like a #ShutDownNation. We recently published 17 reasons to think again before investing in apartheid Israel. Below are 12 new reasons (+1 ongoing) to divest:
Part1: 17 business reasons to divest from apartheid Israel
Just as it was in apartheid South Africa, investing in Israel’s 74-year-old apartheid system against Palestinians is inherently unethical and risky. It also presents a serious legal liability to complicit corporations. #DivestFromApartheid.
No Tech for Oppression, Apartheid or Genocide
After weapons manufacturers, technology is arguably the second most complicit sector in Israel’s ongoing genocide against 2.3 million Palestinians in the illegally occupied and besieged Gaza Strip and its underlying, decades-old settler-colonial apartheid regime against the entire Indigenous Palestinian people. This makes tech targets a priority for the BDS movement.
BDS in Palestine
The Palestinian BDS National Committee (BNC) is the largest coalition in Palestinian society, in historic Palestine and in exile. Its General Assembly consists of 33 coalitions and grassroots campaigns, each represented by one member with one vote when decisions are required. Generally, all BNC decisions are reached on the basis of what we call in Arabic tawafuq, or accord.
