The BDs activists came to the Palau Blaugrana to protest the holding of the meeting and show their opposition to Israeli policy and the conflict in Gaza.

In an action organized by the 'Stop the war' coalition, the event brought together approximately 50 people raised a banner with the slogan "South Africa yesterday, today Palestine, stop apartheid".

In addition, leaflets were distributed with the Palestinian flag and an explanatory text on the protest, led with the statement "Barça yes, massacre in Gaza no."

The protesters were quickly attacked by the police, and many of the protesters contined to carry the flags and balloons calling for the boycott of Israel as they were dragged out of the stadium. Protestors and many of the audience yelled slogans against Israel and Maccabi and calling for the freedom of the Palestinian people.

The representative of the Catalan Gaza Solidarity Campaign, David Karvala, denounced the Spanish government for its "continued sale of arms to Israel" and recalled that Maccabi is one of the leading representatives of the foreign policy establishment of Israel. "[Maccabee] players went to visit the troops, while Israeli children and women killed in Gaza," he insisted.
