The Palestinian-led BDS movement calls for solidarity actions March 21 - 28.
On March 21, organizers will gather to protest the violence and destruction driven by big oil at the heart of the industry in Houston, Texas at CERAWeek, a major global energy conference.
Then, on March 28, hundreds of thousands of people will march against corporate capture of democracy for the No Kings protest in the US. Take action all week as part of the Boycott Chevron campaign!
From March 21-28:
- Slow down business at Chevron, Caltex and Texaco stations by taking your time at the pump buying just a few cents of gas, with cars decked out in Boycott Chevron and Free Palestine messaging.
- Peacefully disrupt events sponsored by Chevron with noise and sound.
- Join the environmental justice contingent in confronting Chevron Executives at CERAWeek in Houston.
- Take action during No Kings mobilizations in the US to grow our coalition, letting reachable allies know that they, as consumer activists, have the right and the moral duty to reject corporations that profit from genocide, apartheid, and environmental destruction.
Note: We encourage activists to consult with local legal counsel about the risks of specific tactics in your context.
Chevron is the main provider of energy to genocidal Israel, exploiting Israeli-claimed gas fields off the coast of occupied Gaza to power Israel's energy grid including illegal settlements and military bases. Chevron is complicit in Israeli energy apartheid and the illegal exploitation of Palestinian land and resources.
Chevron is also a primary polluter in Houston, where Chevron decimated the Black neighborhood of Kennedy Heights in Houston and operates the third-most polluting refinery in the Harris County area.
All of this harm is par for the course for Chevron, which previously dumped 16 billion gallons of toxic waste in “Lago Agrio” Ecuador, poisoning and displacing hundreds of Indigenous families and communities.
Through highly visible, disruptive peaceful actions that make noise and slow business, we will show that people power can disrupt Chevron's devastating trail of harm around the globe, from the US Gulf South, to Gaza, to Venezuela, to Ecuador, and beyond.
