PACBI is pleased to announce that Gare St Lazare Players Ireland have decided to cancel their performance at Tel Aviv University on May 26 after learning that the Palestinian venue in Ramallah would not be hosting their production of  "First Love"  on 27 and 28 May.

Occupied Ramallah, 23 March 2010 --   A recent article criticizing PACBI‘s position on the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra (WEDO) [1] is based on false premises, misunderstanding and/or misrepresentation of PACBI‘s boycott criteria, and a misconception of the recent history of civil resistance in Palestine. Since the article insinuates that PACBI‘s position on WEDO is inconsistent with its own principles, the record needs to be set straight.

PACBI Statement

PACBI‘s recent statement entitled "Intellectual Responsibility and the Voice of the Colonized [1]," which criticizes the research project that led to the publication of the book, The Power of Inclusive Exclusion: Anatomy of Israeli Rule in the Occupied Palestinian Territories [2], has stirred a healthy debate and mostly constructive discussion among various scholars. Some, however, have misinterpreted this statement and reached certain conclusions that are neither based on the text of the statement nor representative of PACBI‘s consistent positions.
