CAPJPO-EuroPalestine - Confronted with the indignation expressed by so many people in France and abroad who had heard about the scheduled Israeli Tourism Fair in this great Parisian hotel, the management of this establishment has made the decision to cancel this event, which was supposed to open on January 15.


The hotel’s management, as the Paris police prefecture has confirmed to us, has indicated that it has disinvited the 50 Israeli exhibitors who had planned to present their tourism products.

JANUARY 7TH, 2009, Re: Middle East Crisis - On behalf of the 56,000 members of the canadian union of postal workers, I am writing to demand that the Canadian government condemn the military assault on the people of Gaza that the state of Israel commenced on december 26th, 2008.

Canada must also call for a cessation of the ongoing Israeli siege of Gaza, which has resulted in the collective punishment of the entire Gaza population.

Canada must also address the root cause of the violence: Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.

Palestinian Unions Call for Boycott

The Palestinian Union of Workers’ Unions has called for a comprehensive boycott of Israeli products effective immediately.

Any product with a non-Israeli alternative should be substituted as an act of defiance and protest against the Israeli atrocities in the Gaza Strip, said a statement from the union.

It also called on the Palestinian government to encourage local production for any products without a viable alternative.

It called on those who import Israeli products to stop purchasing as soon as possible and seek for local alternatives.
