Five and a half months into Israel’s #GazaGenocide against 2.3 million Palestinians, the UNSC today finally “demanded” an “immediate” and “lasting” ceasefire, obligating Israel to stop its genocide. Facing unprecedented isolation worldwide and opposition from a majority of voters in the US, the genocidal Biden administration abstained. 

As we mark this International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (#IDERD) we commemorate all of the Palestinians murdered in Israel’s racist #GazaGenocide. Palestinians in Gaza have now endured 167 days of Israeli attacks, over 32,000 Palestinians have been murdered, at least 13,000 of them were children. 

Despite Israel’s livestreamed genocide against Palestinians in Gaza and the nosediving international investment and confidence in its hi-tech sector (investment in 2023 down by 74%), Intel (INTC) has announced plans to build a $25 billion chipmaking factory in Israel, expanding its already large factory.

  The BDS movement welcomes the announcement of the International Alliance of App-Based Transport Workers (IAAWT), representing 100,000 app-based drivers in 20 countries, to boycott Chevron gas stations (branded as Chevron, Caltex, or Texaco), in alignment with the Palestinian-led BDS campaign against and the call by Palestinian trade unions.

March 11th, 2024 – As Ramadan begins, the UN’s hunger monitoring system, Integrated Food Security Phase Classification, has raised the alarm regarding famine in Gaza confirming, “This is the highest share of people facing high levels of acute food insecurity that the IPC initiative has ever classified for any given area or country.”

Israel's genocide in Gaza, built on decades of apartheid and settler-colonialism, has killed over 30,000 Palestinians. 80% of Gaza's population is displaced and all facing forced starvation. 

The Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI), a founding member of the BDS movement, calls for the boycott of Eurovision 2024. We urge all participating broadcasters, national competitors, finalists, production crews, and viewers to boycott the contest following the refusal of the organisers, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), to ban genocidal Israel.

The Palestinian Campaign for the Academic & Cultural Boycott of Israel welcomes the news that five Norwegian universities have suspended ties with complicit Israeli universities over Israel’s #GazaGenocide. This is what Palestinians, including universities and faculty unions, are calling for as the most effective means of solidarity.

More than 300 Palestinian sports teams are calling to ban Israel from the Olympics over its genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. As sports journalist Dave Zirin said, “the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will not act unless we make it.” So let’s make it.

We welcome the groundbreaking call of the 12-member West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) for FIFA to “isolat[e] the Israeli Football Association from all football-related activities” over Israel’s #GazaGenocide.
