May 22, 2010 - Following lobbying efforts by the Italian Coalition Against Carmel-Agrexco, two major Italian supermarket chains, COOP and Nordiconad, announced the suspension of sales of products from Agrexco, the principal exporter of produce from Israel and the illegal Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

The international Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement today scored a major victory as Dublin City Council passed a resolution calling on the City Manager not to sign or renew any contracts with French multinational Veolia[1] – the operators of the LUAS who have also tendered for the Metro North project[2].

Mel Frykberg [IPS News] 20 May 2010 - Israeli settlers are beginning to feel the bite of an economic boycott campaign launched by the Palestinian Authority (PA) against goods produced in the illegal Israeli settlements dotting the occupied West Bank.   "This is economic terrorism," complained the Yesha Council (YC), an umbrella organisation of municipal councils of Jewish settlements in the West Bank.  

Vikram Dodd, and Rory McCarthy [Guardian] 18 May 2010 - Elvis Costello has cancelled two concerts he was scheduled to play in in protest at its treatment of Palestinians.   Costello, one of the most gifted British songwriters of his generation, was due to play on 30 June and 1 July but says his "conscience" dictated that he pull out of the performances.

The CFMEU (Construction Forestry, Mining and Electricity Union) national executive have a adopted a position supporting selective BDS. HEY ELTON, by Canadian filmmaker John Greyson Palestinian civil society has called on Elton John to respect their boycott call and cancel his June 17th concert in Tel Aviv. If he does so, he'll be joining Santana and Gil-Scott Heron, who recently cancelled their spring concerts in Israel. This video suggests six reasons why Elton should join the BDS (boycott, divestment, sanctions) movement.
