Civil Society Organizations to Norway: Reinstate ban on investment in settlement-building company Africa Israel

Three Palestinian and one US-based civil society organization have urged Norway’s Ministry of Finance to reinstate a prohibition on investment by Norway’s Government Pension Fund Global in two Israeli companies – Africa Israel and Danya Cebus – due to their ongoing construction of homes in the Israeli settlement of Gilo.

NZ Super Fund cuts firms on ethical grounds

The New Zealand Superannuation Fund has excluded three companies from its $20 billion investment portfolio on responsible investment grounds.

All three companies - Africa Israel investments and subsidiary Danya Cebus, Elbit Systems Ltd, and Shikun Binui - are involved in constructing Israeli settlements or a separation barrier in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, which have been deemed illegal under international law.

The stocks have now been sold.
