BNC Statement

Occupied Palestine, 25 February 2013 – The Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions National Committee (BNC), a broad coalition of the largest Palestinian civil society organizations, trade unions, refugee associations and NGO networks, calls on sports merchandize company New Balance and the InterContinental Hotel Group to immediately withdraw sponsorship from the Jerusalem marathon taking place on 1 March 2013.

The Palestinian BDS National Committee (BNC), the largest coalition of Palestinian unions, mass organisations, refugee networks and NGOs that leads and and sets the guidelines for the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement, supports all principled action in solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for freedom, justice and equality that is in line with universal human rights and international law.

In its 2005 BDS Call, Palestinian civil society has called for a boycott of Israel, its complicit institutions, international corporations that sustain its occupation, colonization and apartheid,

BNC Statement

In March 2012, the UN Human Rights Council adopted a resolution establishing a Fact-Finding Mission (FFM) with the mandate to examine and issue a report on how the illegal Israeli settlements impact on the human rights (all civil, political, social, economic and cultural rights, including the right to self-determination) of Palestinians. Israel boycotted and refused to cooperate with the proceedings preventing the  entry of the FFM into the West Bank.

The FFM invited Palestinian victims and experts, including NGOs, to submit written submissions and oral testimonies in October 2012.

Occupied Palestine, 15 February 2013 - The Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions National Committee (BNC), a broad coalition of the largest Palestinian civil society organizations, trade unions and NGO networks, supports the outcomes of the UN Fact Finding Mission on Israeli Settlements[1] that calls for boycotts and sanctions as measures required to end the illegal Israeli settlement enterprise.

We, Palestinian organisations and unions representing farmers struggling for their right to their land and to food sovereignty, urge international civil society organisations to build effective campaigns and work towards ending agricultural trade with Israel that finances and rewards the destruction of Palestinian farming.

For Palestinians, farming is tied to Palestinian identity, history and resistance to Israel’s illegal occupation. Palestinian farmers face the brunt of Israel’s land confiscations, demolitions and theft of water.
