As the largest producer of Israeli claimed natural gas, Chevron fuels Israel’s war machine with energy and revenue via the operation and co-ownership of major gas fields off the coast of colonized Palestinian land.
Chevron is also the only US fossil fuel company currently operating in Venezuela. Chevron’s stock prices increased immediately following the US military aggression on Venezuela and the kidnapping of its president Nicolas Maduro.
Chevron fuels imperialist aggression, from Venezuela to Palestine.
Corporate profiteering is a driving force in this new era of “might-makes-right,” led by the genocidal US-Israeli axis. Gaza was only the first experiment.
Chevron’s influence over US and Israeli violence is undeniable. Chevron CEO Mike Wirth lobbied Trump extensively over the last year to improve conditions for the fossil fuel giant in Venezuela, and Trump admitted that he notified fossil fuel executives immediately prior to the US military operation - though he did not notify Congress.
Meanwhile, off the shores of Gaza, the Israeli military’s naval blockade continues to secure Chevron’s offshore rigs. Energy supplied by Chevron’s gas fields powers Israeli military bases, prisons, and illegal settlements. Chevron also recently heavily pressured the US and Israel to complete a controversial Israeli gas deal with Egypt, deepening its hold on the region.
This isn’t new for Chevron - the company has a decades-long record of exploitation and human rights violations globally, from Ecuador to Nigeria. We cannot continue to allow Chevron to call the shots, at the expense of our people and our planet.
