The BDS movement calls for a Global Week of Action against the complicit Basque train manufacturer CAF, June 6-13.
The Basque train manufacturer CAF is deeply complicit in maintaining and expanding Israel’s illegal Jerusalem Light Rail’s Red Line and is building the new Green Line. These lines connect illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank to West Jerusalem. Israeli colonial settlements are built on stolen Palestinian land and are sustained through the ethnic cleansing and forcible displacement of Palestinians. They constitute war crimes under international law.
In September 2025, CAF was included in the United Nations database of companies implicated in activities in Israel’s illegal settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory.
Recently, a coalition of civil society organizations filed a criminal complaint with Spain’s Public Prosecutor’s Office against CAF’s Board of Directors for their role in maintaining Israel’s regime of colonial oppression. If this case succeeds, it sets a precedent for corporate responsibility – in the Spanish state and beyond.
Join the campaign to pressure CAF to get off Israel’s apartheid train by participating in the Global Week of Action on June 6 - 13:
- Peacefully disrupt CAF worksites and protest against CAF ongoing projects in your country.
- Call CAF worksites in your country to demand CAF get off Israel’s apartheid train.

Note: We encourage activists to consult with local legal counsel about the risks of specific tactics in your context.
By providing the technical backbone for Israel’s colonial Jerusalem Light Rail, CAF directly enables Israel's illegal occupation and annexation of East Jerusalem and the consolidation of Israel’s colonial settlements that ethnically cleanse Palestinians from their homeland.
For years, a global BDS campaign has targeted CAF through factory strikes, peaceful direct actions at construction sites, interventions at shareholder meetings and legal challenges to contracts in countries like Belgium, Mexico and Norway.
For years, CAF’s board has ignored these demands. Instead of disengaging, it has expanded its role — even as Israel carries out genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.
