Occupied Palestine, 30 November 2010 - ‘May this tribunal prevent the crime of silence’, pleaded intellectual Bertrand Russell at the first meeting of the citizens’ War Crimes Tribunal that investigated US war crimes during its war on Vietnam.

PACBI Statement

Some international organizations that are involved in organizing events and activities in cooperation with -- or using the facilities of -- boycottable Israeli institutions and venues have tried to "balance" their involvement in such activities by organizing parallel activities with Palestinian institutions.

BNC Statement

Veolia and Alstom feel the heat – BNC calls for intensifying pressure!

Occupied Palestine, November 2010 - Veolia and Alstom, the two French companies involved in the construction and management of a tramway linking west Jerusalem with illegal Israeli colonial settlements in Occupied Palestinian Territory, described by the UN Human Rights Council as a “clear violation of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions,”1 have both recently been reported to be selling their shares in the consortium that manages the project.

BNC Statement

Occupied Palestine, 23 November 2010 – The Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions National Committee (BNC) urges the French government to immediately cease all undemocratic, repressive measures against its own conscientious citizens who promote or engage in non-violent boycotts, divestment and sanctions (BDS) campaigns against Israel until it complies with international law.

Because of several reports which have appeared recently about a United Nations "blacklist" of entertainers and other cultural personalities visiting South Africa, I thought it would be desirable to brief the media about the United Nations role in the campaign against apartheid in the cultural field.

Statements by some entertainers and others that the United Nations is attacking their freedoms, have been spread widely by South African propaganda.
