We salute Jordan’s Parliament for its principled vote on Sunday to refuse to import natural gas from Israel. We call on the Parliament to take the necessary steps to convert this decision into a binding law.

The Palestinian BDS National Committee welcomes the Jordanian Parliament's vote to ban the government from importing natural gas from Israel. We call on Jordan’s Parliament to turn this decision into a binding law.

We join overwhelming majorities in Jordan and the Arab World in demanding that the Jordanian government, along with Egypt’s government, end gas imports from Israel.

Israel uses the proceeds from these gas deals to perpetuate its regime of occupation, apartheid and settler-colonialism over the Palestinian people. These disastrous deals also make these countries’ energy needs hostage to Israel.
