CISO endorses BDS, calls on Canadian government to designate Israel as an apartheid state

The Centre International De Solidarité Ouvrière is a major coalition of 60+ Quebec labour unions and civil society groups, has unanimously passed a motion endorsing BDS and urges the Canadian government to designate Israel as an apartheid state.

At its general assembly this month, Centre International De Solidarité Ouvrière (CISO), a major coalition of 60+ Quebec labour unions and civil society groups, unanimously endorsed BDS! The BDS movement welcomes this overwhelming show of solidarity and support for Palestinian human rights.

In addition to endorsing BDS principles, the resolution commits to educating CISO’s members on Palestine and BDS; commits to protecting freedom of speech on Palestine, and urges the Canadian government to designate Israel as an apartheid state. CISO joins a growing number of organizations across Québec and Canada in their support for Palestinian human rights.

These organizations, representing millions of people, include labour unions, churches, political parties, social movements, and more. CISO also joins the many trade unions and national trade union federations across the world which have endorsed BDS as the most meaningful form of solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for freedom.
