IAW DEMO 2023
March 25, 2023 @ 12:00 pm
Christian-Broda-Platz, 1070, Vienna
Join the protest on March 25th, 2023 to support the Palestinian struggle during the Israeli Apartheid Week 2023! Over the past year, the Israeli apartheid regime has intensified its systematic settler-colonial oppression over Palestinian lives and land. We have witnessed a devastating number of Palestinians murdered by the Israeli occupation forces, and targeted extrajudicial killings, including over 30 children and the renowned journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, in the loud silence of the international community. Israel’s policy of ethnic cleansing has intensified with random acts of violence committed by illegal settlers protected by the occupation forces. The Palestinian resistance continues to struggle with strength and determination, from Masafer Yatta to Jenin and Gaza, from Sheikh Jarrah to Yafa to Al-Naqab, and in the diaspora worldwide. Join the protest on March 25th, 2023 to support the Palestinian struggle!

APARTHEID IN PALESTINA
SIG in samenwerking met Antwerp for Palestine

20 marzo ore 18

Amsterdam as a city has a long history of standing against apartheid and supporting the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa 1960- 1994. Apartheid must not be accepted whether in South Africa or Palestine or any part of the world. This event aims to draw connections between the history of the anti-apartheid movement in Amsterdam and call upon Amsterdam to stand against apartheid and ends all ties with the city of Tel Aviv. In partnership with Palestinian and Dutch CSO’s and international organisations we will invite speakers, such as activists, from the anti-apartheid movement in the past and Palestinian/Dutch activists leading the anti-apartheid movement now. The panel wil be moderated by Saleem Salameh. This programme is organised by Palestinian community members in the Netherlands.
FILM SCREENING: JENIN JENIN
Utrecht in Solidarity with Palestine
March 21, 2023, 19.00
Voorstraat 71, 3512AK, Utrecht
"Where is God," an elderly man desperately wonders when surveying the debris in the Palestinian refugee camp Jenin.
Directed and co-produced by Palestinian actor Mohammad Bakri, Jenin Jenin includes testimony from Jenin residents after the Israeli army's Defensive Wall operation. The city and camp were the scenes of fierce fighting which ended with Jenin flattened and scores of Palestinians dead. Palestinians as well as numerous human rights groups accused Israel of committing war crimes in the attack. The United Nations appointed a commission of inquiry, but Israel refused to let its members visit the scene.
Banned in Israel, Jenin Jenin is dedicated to Iyad Samudi, the producer of the film, who returned home to Yamun after the shooting of the film was completed. On June 23, as Israeli forces besieged Yamun, Samudi was shot and killed as he was leaving a militarily-closed area with three friends.
The screening of Jenin Jenin will be followed by a discussion and Q&A.

BARCLAYS: DON'T BANK ON APARTHEID - DAY OF ACTION
March 25, 2023 @ 1:00 pm
A Barclays Bank Near You!
Take action at a high street Barclays branch near you: demand the bank stop investing in companies supplying Israel with weapons and military technology used to assault Palestinians.
Militarised violence against the Palestinian people is a central feature of Israel’s regime of settler-colonialism, occupation and apartheid.
In 2023, Israel has continued its attacks on Palestinians. On 26 January, Israeli armed forces invaded Jenin, and killed 10 Palestinians in a single raid. In January, at least 35 Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces, including children, while hundreds more have been injured.
This violence is made possible because of Israel’s trade in arms with countries around the world, including the UK, and the complicity of companies and banks that continue to aid Israel’s violence – including Barclays.
Our research has uncovered that Barclays invests over £1billion+ in arms companies supplying Israel, including Elbit Systems. It specialises in the production of military technology, surveillance systems, and military drones – used to brutalise Palestinians in Israel’s regular attacks, including its repeated bombardments of the Gaza Strip.
In late March the world marks the UN Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and remembers those killed resisting white minority rule in South Africa. During that time, Barclays was a key target of anti-apartheid campaigners worldwide because of its financial links with the apartheid regime.
Palestinians have called on us to revive this history, and stand in solidarity with their anti-apartheid struggle, by pressuring Barclays bank to divest from companies like Elbit Systems.
With Barclays continuing to be complicit in the crime against humanity of apartheid, through its financial ties with companies arming Israel, we must take action in solidarity with Palestinians resisting Israel’s violence to demand Barclays #StopBankingOnApartheid.
