PACBI Statement

Two of the most important issues that arise in debating Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS), particularly in Western countries, are (A) whether or not Palestinians should be working with Israelis rather than boycotting them, and (B) whether supporters of BDS should fully boycott Israel or boycott only companies involved in Israel’s occupation and colonial settlements. We hope the discussion below will help shed some light on both issues.

It is with great disappointment that the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI) has learned of your scheduled performance in Israel set for September 10, 2012 [1].  We write to add our voice to the many appeals that you must surely have read by now.  We had hoped that the international solidarity, with letters from India, Lebanon, Italy, Israel and the US, not to mention individuals who have appealed to you both publicly and p

Hacemos un llamamiento a compañeros y activistas de todo el mundo para que mantengan este espíritu en 2013 y para que sigan trabajando.

PACBI Statement

PACBI and its partners wish to express their gratitude to all the artists and arts groups that withdrew from the festival after learning the truth about the organizing group’s political program. In particular, we thank Jamil as-Sayeh, Ilham Madfa’i, DAM and Asayel. We also thank everyone who helped spread the word and raise awareness about the event and its sponsors.

The discrepancy in the political language used by the organizers in their Arabic webpage and the main English page was only an indicator of a deeper deception.
