Marking the 44th UN International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People
To mark UN International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People the BDS movement have released a special video and reiterates the demand for #UNinvestigateApartheid.
Today marks the 44th UN International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. November 29 also marks 75 years since the UN first debated the Question of Palestine. 75 years of justice delayed.
Israel controls every facet of Palestinian life through a brutally oppressive regime of settler-colonialism and apartheid which exercises a single system of domination over all Indigenous Palestinians. Violence, arbitrary arrest, child detention, a deliberately humiliating system of permits and checkpoints, and a dual legal system - one for Palestinians and another for Jewish-Israeli settlers living - illegally - in the same geographical location weave the tapestry of Israel’s apartheid over Palestinians.
2022 has been a milestone year for the Palestinian anti-apartheid struggle. But 2022 has also been yet another year in which Palestinians have endured our ongoing Nakba. It has been a deadly year for us, as apartheid Israel has murdered over 200 Palestinians, including 51 children, to date. This figure includes Palestinians in Gaza who also endured a brutal aerial bombardment in August in which Israel murdered at least 49 Palestinians, including 17 children.

Decades of struggle on the ground and international solidarity, coupled with measures taken by the United Nations, ultimately succeeded in ending apartheid in South Africa. The UN established a Special Committee and a Center to help eradicate apartheid. It also imposed a #MilitaryEmbargo and later wide-ranging economic, cultural and diplomatic #SanctionsOnApartheid South Africa.
Now is the time for the UN to take similar targeted actions against apartheid Israel, starting with #UNinvestigateApartheid!
