The Council of the University of Cape Town, Africa's top university, votes to reserve the right to disassociate itself from academic institutions that support or enable, directly or indirectly, the violation of human rights.

The Colombian bookstore chain Panamericana canceled its contract with the private security company G4S, following a campaign in which customers asked Panamericana to drop G4S due to complicity with Israeli crimes in Palestine.

Following a period of campaigning, Tayside Pension Fund no longer invests local authority pension funds in Bank Hapoalim, an Israeli bank that operates and finances state infrastructure within illegal settlements upon occupied Palestinian land.

In a significant blow to efforts by Israel lobby groups to use courts to harass, intimidate and silence supporters of Palestinian rights, a  federal judge dismissed a lawsuit against the American Studies Association over its decision to support the boycott of Israeli academic institutions.
