On the occssion of Black History Month, February 2013, Interfaith Peace-Builders' second African Heritage Delegation has released a powerful statement of solidarity and strength.

The statement of the second African Heritage Delegation states that "the Israeli occupation and the suppression of Palestinian rights conform to the United Nations definition of Apartheid," and calls on the "the United States government to cease its military aid of $3 billion of our tax dollars annually to Israel."

The statement also endorses "the  international campaign calling for boycotts, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Israel in support of Palestinian freedom, justice and equality." In this call the delegation adds its voices to those of the first African Heritage Delegation in 2011 whose statement also endorsed the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions Campaign.

The statement concludes: "Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. told us, 'Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.' We believe in the indivisibility of our human rights and those of Palestinians and all oppressed peoples.  We will not rest until all of humanity is free."

The 2012 African Heritage Delegation to Palestine/Israel included 15 individuals from communities around the United States.  The delegation traveled in Israel and the occupied West Bank from October 22 - November 3, 2012.  The delegation releases the statement on Black History Month, February 2013.
