In the midst of its genocide against 2.3 million Palestinians in the occupied Gaza Strip, the Israeli military is intensifying its massacres in northern Gaza to forcibly displace the remaining Palestinian population–some 400,000. Over the past seven days, Israeli forces have advanced into this area, effectively blocking the only three entrances and imposing a siege that has included heavy airstrikes and shelling, particularly targeting what is left of the Jabalia refugee camp.
As the death toll rises, the bodies of many massacred Palestinians lie in the streets, inaccessible due to the ongoing blockade. Israel’s genocidal forces are firing on Palestinians attempting to rescue the injured. Israel has ordered hospitals in the north of Gaza to evacuate all staff and patients, threatening bombardment if they fail to comply. In parallel, Israel is escalating its bloody aggression in the occupied West Bank, its rolling massacres in Lebanon, even bombing a UN peacekeepers’ position, and its bombing campaigns in Syria, Iraq and Yemen.
Israel’s unprecedented criminality is a direct result of its unprecedented impunity, made possible through the arming, funding and full partnership of the colonial West, led by the US.
“Where to go?” more than 400,000 Palestinians remaining in northern Gaza are asking, and there is no answer, as there is no safe place to go. Israel is using a “scorched earth” policy, turning Palestinian land to dust, bombing homes, infrastructure, medical facilities, and schools, and inducing mass famine and the spread of infectious diseases to exterminate as many Palestinians as possible and ethnically cleanse the survivors.
This is an urgent call to action— act now to help end Israel’s livestreamed genocide against Palestinians. Only our people power can build the pressure needed to stop Israel’s carnage and help dismantle its 76-year-old regime of settler-colonialism and apartheid.
TAKE ACTION:
1. PRESSURE YOUR GOVERNMENT TO IMPOSE SANCTIONS ON ISRAEL, INCLUDING A COMPREHENSIVE MILITARY EMBARGO.
This isn’t a choice but a duty: Sanctions on Israel were voted for by a global majority of 124 states on 18 September at the UN General Assembly. The historic rulings by the International Court of Justice this year trigger the legal obligation of all states to end complicity in Israel’s regime of oppression.
2. TAKE TO THE STREETS TO PRESSURE GOVERNMENTS TO END COMPLICITY.
Join millions who are marching and peacefully disrupting business-as-usual to pressure governments to end their complicity in Israel’s war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.
3. SUPPORT THE BOYCOTT, DIVESTMENT AND SANCTIONS (BDS) MOVEMENT.
BDS is led by the largest coalition in Palestinian society. Boycott the companies targeted by the BDS movement, and pressure your university, pension fund, city council, trade union, church, cultural center, and other institutions to respect the BDS guidelines and divest from companies complicit in Israel’s military occupation, apartheid and genocide.
4. DEMAND THE IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION OF APARTHEID ISRAEL FROM THE UN.
Israel was admitted in 1949 to the world body under the false premise that it is a peace-loving state and ready to cooperate with the UN to implement UNGA resolution 194 which stipulates the right of the Palestinian refugees to return and receive reparations. Today, as Israel continues its genocide in Gaza, massacres in Lebanon, targeting UN peacekeepers, and continuing its ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, it's overdue to kick Israel out of the UN and all international fora.
